Here’s how the procedure works: An implant is surgically placed in your jaw by a dentist who specializes in implant dentistry (typically an oral surgeon, periodontist, or endodontist), and then we attach a replacement tooth to it. Both of our dentists, Dr. O’Leary and Dr. Peppler, have successfully performed implant dentistry to support crowns, bridges, and even dentures.

Implant Dentists – Teamwork’s Involved
At Meadows Dental, we perform the entire implant procedure in our office, from start to finish, which is unusual. Most general dental practices in the Denver metro area have to refer you to an oral surgeon’s office for the first phase of the procedure. But we have all of the experienced dental team members all under one roof! Dr. Behr, who is an experienced implant dentist and is skilled at surgery, places the implant. Dr. O’Leary or Dr. Peppler then create the restoration that will be placed on top of the implant. Over the years, they’ve successfully completed thousands of implant procedures, and they’re skilled at knowing how the implant will look and feel in your mouth, as well as how it will perform in relation to the rest of your bite.

Please note: While many chain dental offices in the Denver metro area advertise “one-day implants,” the claim is a bit misleading. Only a small percentage of patients would be able to have the implant surgery and temporary crown placed in the same day. More typically, the implant surgery is performed, the area is allowed to heal, and a crown is later placed.
